Pietro Chini

Born in 1876, Tito’s son and Chino’s brother with whom, together with his cousin Galileo, he was one of the founders of the San Lorenzo Furnaces which, however, he abandoned already in 1909. Not a precisely definable figure, we find him almost always active in joint efforts: in 1908 with Galileo and Chino for the decoration of the oratory of the Misericordia in Borgo San Lorenzo, in  1911 with Galileo and  Dino for the decorative preparation for the Italian Ethnographic Exhibition which was held in Rome, in 1913 with Chino and Dino for the decoration of the pavilions of the first Agricultural, Industrial and Artistic Exhibition of Mugello, in 1920 - 1922 with his nephew Tito painting the Villa Pecori Giraldi Villa and finally in 1931, again with Tito, for the internal decoration of the new Town Hall of Borgo San Lorenzo. He had continuous connections with the Confraternity of the Misericordia, which also entrusted him with personal commissions: in 1916 he decorated the new chapel of the cemetery of the Confraternity, and between  1927 and 1930 he presided over the artistic part of the work to enlarge the residence of the Confraternity. He died in Borgo San Lorenzo in 1952.
